About

Nooshin Sadeghsamimi is an anthropologist and ethnographic filmmaker serving as a scholar in residence and lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Her research broadly explores how racial, religious, and political identities are constructed and contested in the United States. Her current multimodal film project, set in Colorado Springs, examines how religious discourses shape the politics of inclusion and exclusion and, in turn, how these dynamics influence civic and democratic life in the U.S.
